Hodge is partner in the law firm of Smith
and Hale, LLC, with a practice emphasis on zoning,
annexation, and land use. His practice includes
the general representation of real estate developers,
investors, and individuals through the entitlement
phases of prospective commercial, mixed use, and
residential developments including office buildings,
industrial and warehousing facilities, shopping
centers, hotels, residential subdivisions and
apartment complexes. David further represents
clients in a broad range of real estate transactions
involving real property transfers, development,
land use regulation, annexation and litigation.
David's
practice frequently takes him before the administrative
and legislative bodies of Central Ohio's townships
and municipalities. He regularly appears before
Columbus area neighborhood groups, Area Commissions,
and Civic Associations to introduce new development
proposals that will impact their neighborhoods
and constituents. David has a proven record
of being a consensus builder, working with neighborhoods
and developers alike to foster compromise so
that community development occurs in a manner
protective of stakeholder's private property
rights. He also serves as a member of the City
of Bexley Planning Commission.
David
is a graduate of the University of Kentucky
(1997) and Capital University Law School (2001).
He started at Smith & Hale as a law clerk
in 1999.
David
resides in Bexley with his wife, Lindsay, and
their children, Ben and Bess.
